The Respondent
Episode 10: Ginger Gentile

Greg invited the director of the documentary Erasing Family onto The Respondent to discuss her movie and reasons for making it. What follows is… well, you have to see it to believe it.

Greg wanted to highlight the film – which exposes the trauma children suffer when a loving parent is erased by the divorce courts, a problem that affects over 25 million families in the US alone – and the profound effect it is having on repatriating children with their erased parents. Yet in the strangest, most contentious episode of the season, the interview starts with an exchange about the directors personal motivation for making the movie and devolves as the director makes the caseit all goes rather downhill from there on out…

When Greg asks about her family history she asks to start the interview over.

When asked about a possible reason that 90% of educated women are initiating divorce, she cites men’s lack of sexual prowess – “a lot of men don’t know how to give women orgasms.”

She suggests that “women had an average of one more orgasm a week under communism than in a democracy.”

And perhaps the oddest statement of all – “In the United States we’re taught how awful communism was, when there were fond memories.”
